the cursor moves by itself and opens new windows etc...

Post by 87220AT » Tue May 14, 2019 10:27 am

Very often when I am using Mypaint, Krita, or Gimp with a wacom tablet the cursor moves by itself, paints and opens new layers and windows. The touchpad is off.
How can I get rid of this problem? (I am using Linux Mint 18.3) Is it a problem of the wacom tablet or is it a bug? Please help.
Thanks in advance

Hi

>Is it a problem of the wacom tablet or is it a bug?

both I think

I have the same problem with my wacom and the only solution I find is... not use wacom on mint.
From the very first version to 18 always the same.
And also my biometric sensor never worked (perfectly on windows obviously)

Maybe you're more lucky than me, try to update your touchpad drivers with last version (recompile from scratch) and maybe from a different source

Try a kernel from a newer series.

I am using the latest kernel. Do you mean that I have to upgrade to version 19?

That would make it easier to install a kernel from a later series, yes. The 5.0 kernel can be installed in Mint 19.1 by means of the kernel tool in Update Manager.

I have upgraded to version 19.1 but after a while the wacom tablet has stopped working: the led is on but the graphic tablet window says that no graphic tablet is detected. I am using bamboo cth-460; xserver-xorg-input-wacom, libwacom2 and libwacom-common are installed.
What should I do to solve this problem?
