Lenovo Legion Y530 update

Post by davor »

Hello everybody!
I am about to switch to Linux Mint 19.2, and plan to get Lenovo Legion Y530. I was just wondering if there are still isuess with this laptop model, like wifi, touchpad and keyboard backlit problems, since this is now not a brand new model… Btw, I tried live usb with linux mint 19.2 on my curent lenovo legion y520 (running win 10), and everything works like a charm :)
I have seen some posts here about Y530 but latest are 5-6 months old, is there any update on this model, can owners confirm curent status?
Thanks everyone in advance!

Hello davor,

there is a thread about Y530 only a few days old, where two users have wifi-detecting problems. As I know, the Y530 normally comes with an wireless Intel or Realtek card and the Realtek card can cause problems. You can find threads in the Lenovo Forum, where many Windows users have issues with the Realtek cards, too. So if you can confirm, that your model uses the Intel card, it should be working.
