Can anyone help me understand how to install this synth driver? (ultranova4linux)

Post by whatsforbreakfast »

I found an open source driver on Github for a synthesizer I own, the driver is for controlling MIDI input and output data. It sounds like it should be relatively straightforward to get up and running based on the developers included notes, however it lacks a clear "step 1 do this, step 2 do that" instruction set that my newbie brain needs to get this thing going.

Code: Select all

Can anyone help me understand what I need to do to get this installed and running?

Try this: https://askubuntu.com/questions/177329/ ... ource-code

Also, this instruction needs clarification:
Also to access the device, the permissions on the USB device have to be right. To do this properly, create the file /etc/udev/rules.d/92-novation.rules
You will need to use, for example, sudo nano and a space before /etc/udev/rules.d/92-novation.rules. Use ctr-s to save, ctrl-x to exit nano.
