WiFi Drivers

Post by Qurcus » Thu Sep 05, 2019 9:36 am

I'm using Linux Mint 19.2 on a HP Slimline 290-p0046 computer. This is the motherboard it's using ---> https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c05991290

Linux Mint runs perfect on this computer but the WiFi doesn't work on it. HP doesn't have Linux drivers and I'm not able to find any where. Does anyone one know if there are drivers available ?

Please post an inxi -Fxz report. This will give us a concise overview of your hardware and on how Mint sees it.

Here is how to generate the report and post it:

Boot from your installation media (USB/DVD)
Open a terminal window (Ctrl-Alt-t). Make it fullscreen to avoid unneeded linebreaks or chopped lines. Execute the command

Code: Select all

 inxi -Fxzd
exactly as it has been typed here.

Mark the complete text output which the command will display with your mouse.
Press the keyboard shortcut <Shift><Ctrl>C to copy the marked text into the clipboard.
Enclose the results between the code markers by selecting </> from the mini toolbar above the textbox where you type your reply then paste <Ctrl>V them in your reply between the code markers.

The results will help us to help you.

Nope - nothing changed. It's fine though that it doesn't work. The computer is plugged in directly so i really don't need it to function. I'm just enjoying trying to get everything working on my system. With the new Wine out, and new patches for old games, i have all my 20 year old disk video games running (and in HQ). I tried installing the original Max Payne on Windows 10 and it through a fit. Works fine in 19.2 .
