This is weird.

Code: Select all

mint18@mint18 ~ $ pulseaudio -k
mint18@mint18 ~ $ sudo pulseaudio -k
[sudo] password for mint18:
E: [pulseaudio] core-util.c: Home directory not accessible: Permission denied
E: [pulseaudio] main.c: Failed to kill daemon: No such file or directory
mint18@mint18 ~ $
But this happens usually on browser, not videos in my home folders.

pulseaudio -k doesn't return anything except errors if they happen. The sound daemon should restart automatically, and silently.

I'm not having problem at this time. Sometimes when I come out of suspend is when it happens. That's when I discovered "switch user" and then login seems to correct the problem. It's like two sound files playing at the same time, double talk, or feeding back over itself out of sync. Next time it happens, I'll try to get a recording of it.

Sounds good. The suspend/resume issue is often a stubborn one.

It's not an issue I've seen before. I'm wondering if there might be an issue with the wiring to the headphone port. You might want to check that the next time you shut down and have some spare time.
It has crossed my mind, I'm old and and can't see small stuff, this is the first pc I've put together. Surprised it actually booted, honestly.
