19.3 Running Cooler Than Previous Releases?

Post by JoeBingo »

I've noticed my desktop with 19.3 Mate seems to run up to about 10 degrees cooler than previous releases. Wondering if anyone else is having this experience?

I can't really say all things are equal with the various releases because maybe it's the time of year or maybe the setup and something tweaked ... or not tweaked. I don't have temp graphs or anything. My desktop is a fanless Mint Box / Intense PC by FitPC and I just take a look at the Disks app in the control center from time to time to keep an eye on things. And it looks to be running cooler now than previously. Actually, significantly (10 - 15%) cooler.

You're lucky, that usually indicates the power management and/or video drivers have been updated and work better now. Do NOT exoect this sort of thing when updating, it's almost completely hardware dependent. Other hardware may be running hotter after the same upgrade.
