It almost certainly is.

For your mic issue, there's a newer kernel available in the Update Manager that might fix this. If still not working, run alsamixer in the terminal and raise to the max the levels of everything with PGA in the name of the columns.

tried both. didnt work.
btw: after raising all alsamixer bars to max and trying mic with zoom, the mic chart goes back down

Just want to be sure here. Your images only show the Mic Boost level as changing. Off the screen to the right, there might be columns such as PGA9.0 PGA10.0 etc. You may need to press F4 instead for the Capture controls as I'm not sure which page they're on.

Okay, that's good. If it had outputted 0x9d71 you'd have been out of luck.

Open the Update Manager and apply all the updates that are available. Especially kernel, ALSA and PulseAudio updates. Hopefully that'll get the mic working.

Reboot when done.

Hrmm, there should certainly be a kernel update to 5.3.0-53, but whatever.

Let's see the output of pacmd list-sources please as well as this one:

Code: Select all

dmesg | grep -C1 -E 'ALSA|HDA|sof|HDMI|snd[_-]|sound|hda.codec|hda.intel'

Okay, you weren't earlier.

Try this:

Code: Select all

pacmd set-default-source alsa_input.pci-0000_00_1f.3-platform-skl_hda_dsp_generic.stereo-fallback

Then restart Zoom and test.

Damn, I'm pretty sure that isn't going to work from this line:

Code: Select all

ports:
analog-input-mic: Microphone (priority 8700, latency offset 0 usec, available: no)
That should be showing a Digital Microphone option.
