Game capture cards

Post by illegalwombat »

I'm planning to switch back to linux after using windows because of videogames.
A thing that might be an issue is that I currently own an elgato which I'm pretty sure won't work on linux.
My questions are, would it work on a virtual machine instead? And if not, I'm checking out the Blackmagic Intensity Pro 4K.To explain my situation:
I don't own a TV, and my monitor doesn't have speakers. I also like to stream stuff on discord for friends.
Due to that I need to find a way to see my consoles on pc, with as little latency as possible. With my elgato the latency is close to zero, and I'm looking for ways to achieve that on linux too.
