integrated webcam not found? surface pro 6 on linux mint

Post by iHateClocks »

Started using Linux Mint a day or two ago.
Tons of problems since.
On cinnamon.

I'm a real noob, so please be patient with me!

as the title suggests, the problem is that my webcam just isn't being detected anywhere. the surface pro 6, however, HAS TWO INTEGRATED ONES!

i checked cheese, a whole bunch of cheese ripoffs, zoom, skype, and none of them seem to believe that I have one.

I know that they both work, because I used them fine on windows 10.

I'm stumped. It's not in lsusb or lspci.
Here's my output for them anyways (output for $inxi -Fxxxrz` is further down in bold):
