On my Lenovo ThinkPad X140e, I tried connecting my Bose QC35 to it, via Bluetooth.
I played a portion of a video (which came through the headphones), and then paused the video. When I resumed it, the audio came through my built-in laptop speakers.
When I explored the sound controls, it seemed that there was no way to set separate output levels, such as muting the built-in speakers, but not muting the Bluetooth headphones.
[Likely solved, untested] Laptop - Internal speakers and bluetooth headphones share the same sound output volume?

Hi SweetBearCub,
PulseAudio Volume Control (pavucontrol) can do just that on the Output Devices tab.
