Are they plugged into a hub?
Can you post the output to the following command with them all unplugged, then plug them in one by one and see if any start working and try the same command again.

Code: Select all

lsusb
Also the following command wouldn't hurt so we can squeeze more information out of you.

Code: Select all

IF USB devices are attached to a hub, maybe the hub is caput!
If USB devices are not recognized after plugging each one separately into your pc, then a re-install of the OS may work, as sometimes an upgrade/install goes south.
Try a Live USB/DVD to test if USB devices are recognized after plugging each one separately into your pc.

I did an "updrade" from LM19.3 to Lm20 and had many issues.
After a "clean" install, everything works fine.
Good luck.

Most of them are not plugged into a hub, using usb ports from motherboard. I did a complete install and not an upgrade. The live usb dosn't show up but I can boot from it.

"sometimes an upgrade/install goes south."

Personally, I would do another "clean" install (without any USB devices attached, except for a Live LM20 USB for installation), as it seems that the USB bus configuration didn't go right during install.
I've experienced that before.
Good luck.

"The live usb dosn't show up but I can boot from it."

If you can boot from the Live LM20 USB, then plug in another USB device to see if it's recognized.

If the live usb doesn't show up, then redo the USB flash drive using Menu/Accessories/USB Image Writer to write the LM20 .iso file to it.
Then boot from the Live LM20 USB flash drive and reinstall again, formatting ALL partitions (except any partitions that may contain data that you wish to keep) during the install process.

Was it just re-installing several times that got them back and you were lucky or did you do something differently on the last try?
