Notification HD almost full, doesn't add up

Post by nonkel »

I have an internal hard disk of 223,9 GB.
All Folders (Documents, Pictures, etc) add up to 129,7 GB.
I get a Free Space notification of 1,7 GB.
So in my maths I have 92,5 GB floating somewhere in space?
Can someone please explain (and tell me how I get my 92,5 GB back)?

Do you have Timeshift snapshots saved on your drive?
Post the output of this command:

Code: Select all

sudo du / -hd1 --exclude={/run,proc,/dev,/media,/mnt,/sys,/tmp,/cdrom,lost*}| sort -hr -k1
Also this:

Code: Select all

sudo df
Also this:

Code: Select all

inxi -Fxz
Hint use the code tags. Its the </> button in the post toolbar. You paste the code between the code brackets

IF you partitioned your HDD with "something else" during install, your /home or /root folder may be full.
If so, open Gparted and resize either folder.
Gparted will show the status of your HDD.
