Lenovo V15-IIL Touchpad and WiFi Not Working

Post by edhedge »

Hi there,

I recently just installed Linux Mint 20 Cinnamon on my new Lenovo laptop. Install went smoothly and everything is working great. The only problems I have with it is in regards to the wifi and touchpad. Wifi doesn't come up as an option in the network icon so I'm using usb tethering with my phone, also I've resorted to using a wired mouse because the touchpad doesn't work at all (I've enabled touchpad in the mouse and touchpad window though).

My first thought for this was that the drivers aren't supported. I have no idea how to install drivers without using the driver manager, let alone what drivers I should install. I did go to the official Lenovo website and looked for my model but those drivers are only supported for windows 10 (https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/gb/en/prod ... iver-list/).

The touchpad and wifi worked fine in the pre-installed windows 10 OS but when I switched to Mint, they stopped working. Secure boot is disabled, I heard that sometimes effects the running of Linux, and the laptop is in great shape. I'm brand new to linux so learning as I go, not sure where to go from here...

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

My System info is here:
