nvidia errors at bootup

Post by jave »

Hi
Just installed a new nvidia GTX1650 video card. All seems to be well after installing the nvidia drivers.

BUT I get these errors during bootup:

Code: Select all

[ 10.098383] nvidia-gpu 0000:05:00.3: i2c timeout error e0000000
[ 10.098398] ucsi_ccg 0-0008: i2c_transfer failed -110
[ 10.098403] ucsi_ccg 0-0008: ucsi_ccg_init failed - -110
[ 10.098435] ucsi_ccg: probe of 0-0008 failed with error -110
Tried Googling the errors but ending up getting more confused!

This thread [Dual system, Ubuntu 20.04]nvidia-gpu: i2c timeout error; ucsi_ccg: i2c_transfer failed -110, ucsi_ccg_init failed indicates "It seems to be a bug in nvidia driver...Some nvidia cards don't have USB Type-C interface, yet still try to load its i2c driver." The bug link referenced in that post was originally posted by someone with an NVIDIA GTX 1660.

The -110 indicates a time out error. (It kept trying until it reached the time limit for trying.)
