I've been using a geriatric Wacom Graphire2 tablet and stylus on Linux Mint for years without a problem. I used it successfully a few weeks ago.
I just tried to use it again and I discovered that the cursor no longer responds to the Wacom after login. It works fine in the login screen.
I've checked the 'Mouse and Touchpad' settings, and they show that the Wacom is still enabled:
xinput shows the Wacom stylus is enabled:
I don't know what has changed to make the cursor stop responding to the Wacom - and of course this happened just when I'm in a rush to do some photo repair work
My first guess is that it may be a permissions issue, but I don't think I've changed anything relevant so I don't know how that could happen.
Any ideas?
I'm using Linux Mint 20.1 XFCE if it matters.

Re: Wacom tablet stops working after login
I've fixed it, although I still don't know why it stopped working.
I reinstalled everything Wacom-related in Synaptic, viz 'xserver-xorg-input-wacom', 'libwacom2', 'libwacom-bin' and 'libwacom-common'.
I restarted my computer and when I logged in again the Wacom was working correctly.
I assume something in my user config got messed up and reinstalling the wacom system stuff reininitalized the relevant user config files.
