Bluetooth adaptor disappeared

Post by TechnoDiver »

Title isn't a joke, it just disappeared.
I use Mint 20.1 on a Dell inspiron 15. Never had any issues with bluetooth.
Sometimes I turn it off to connect my speaker to my phone, but turning it back on has never been an issue.
I went to do just that yesterday, saw no tray icon so just opened it from menu - normal, everyday, simple stuff - and now it just doesn't detect the adaptor. I've made no changes to my system. Nothing.

I am getting some novel error messages on boot up -

[ 1.908203] usb 1-10: device descriptor read/64, error -71
[ 1.668067] usb 1-10: device descriptor read/64, error -71
[ 1.896140] usb 1-10: device descriptor read/64, error -71
[ 5.072345] usb 1-10: device not accepting address 5, error -71
[ 5.616345] usb 1-10: device not accepting address 6, error -71
[ 5.616433] usb usb1-port10: unable to enumerate usb device

I've never seen these errors before, I don't know why they're referring to a USB device.
Does anyone have any idea what happened to my Bluetooth adaptor and how I access it again?
