after running Mint on my old T410 for a while, having dual boot with Mint on one of my computers und generally being really comfortable with Mint I finally decided to switch my work/uni notebook to Mint (Cinnamon 20.1 x86_64). Most things seem to work but I noticed that a message about missing video drivers popped up and I got a black screen after suspending the system (which i do a lot by closing the notebook and taking it somewhere else).
Some research led me to other people having this problem and solving it, more or less, by switching to the 5.8 kernel.
That worked, no more blackscreens, but: Now my Wifi keeps disconnecting. I've read that could occur (even the message when installing kernels warns you about that) and tried multiple versions of the 5.8 and even a 5.11 kernel. They all have the same problem.
sudo journalctl -fu NetworkManager
tells me connection disconnected (reason -4)
, I have not really made anything out of that information yet other than someone on an ubuntu forum saying it could be bluetooth interference.I have updated my BIOS since I read that could help and there was an update available. I have turned off secure boot.
