[solved] My BT's performance degraded recently

Post by Chronocide »

My bluetooth was working fine until a week or two ago. Now, headphone range is much less, and keyboard repeats keys - looks liiiiiiiiiiike this sometimeeeeeeees. Please help

ao756 Acer Aspire One
QCA9377 (PCIe BT+WiFi)

Release Linux Mint 20.2 Uma 64-bit
Kernel Linux 5.4.0-80-generic x86_64
MATE 1.24.0
Intel® Celeron(R) CPU 877 @ 1.40GHz × 2
Mesa DRI Intel® HD Graphics 2000 (SNB GT1)

[edit] no issues when using USB BT, so I think it's specifically that card
[edit] of course, that's not a solution to the original problem, which I'd still like to resolve, and reclaim that USB port
[edit] should I delete this post, and bring the issue to Ubuntu forums?

[solved] fixed when I shut off the computer to replace the pcie card with a WiFi-only card, and eventually putting the +BT one back in to try out the cold-start solution which seems to apply to a variety of problems. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
