Jabra 65t bluetooth headset does not work in Mint 20

Post by canm2112 »

Hello All,

I have run into an issue with my bluetooth no longer working since the move from Mint 19 to Mint 20 (I've just endured with the usb cable connected). I have a Jabra 65t bluetooth headset and bluetooth usb dongle. GN Netcom is my bluetooth dongle (0b0e:245d) and headset (0b0e:0311) via USB. I've tried removing and reinstalling all of the bluetooth packages, numerous plugging and unplugging of the dongle and reboots after changes. hcitool dev returns no devices and rfkill list returns nothing being blocked. bluetoothctl shows "No default controller available" and I can't seem to get anything from it other than "No default controller available". Blueman-manager does not run at all. I've pasted everything I think that could be relevant below... but if I missed something I'll be happy to add.

I've also nearly become an expert on searching the web for solutions for "bluetooth not working in Ubuntu 20.04" via bing & google with no joy. Can any of you fine folks point me in the direction of a happy Jabra bluetooth headset working on my machine?

I'm afraid all I can do is sympathize. Very frustrating. It says connected and then disconnects. Disappointing not have a solution.

Thanks Luciano. I gave up after hunting for a solution for several weeks. Decided to buy a pair of Marshall Major IV headphones and they connected right up. The Jabra set was getting long in the tooth so they became the headset for my work provided iPhone. Although I did not try using a different dongle and if you are dead set on using the Jabra... give that a shot.
