Good day,
I'm getting a weird issue after the update of Linux Mint 20.2. If I leave my PC for more than 24 hours then the left mouse click doesn't work. I need to reboot Mint before it works again.
The mouse is a USB wired mouse, running through a USB switcher. I'm sure it's not the mouse as I switch to my work laptop using the USB switcher and had no issues with it on there. Also, not sure it's the switcher as mouse movement, right click, track wheel, etc still works as normal. Just left click not working.
At first I thought it was Firefox but closing it didn't change anything. It seem to be a very random issue; as it doesn't always happens.
Does anyone else experienced this before?

I can't say I've ever heard of this.Does anyone else experienced this before?
Just for grins, next time it happens go to Menu - Mouse and Touchpad - and click the "Left handed (mouse buttons inverted). Does the left work then and the right does not?

That's a good idea. Will try it

Bypass the switcher and connect direct.
Mint has problems with some hubs.
You could also try .11 kern

Re: Mint 20.2 mouse left button stops working
Hi.
Got the same problem. Without USB-Hub but with Logitech MX Anywhere 2S.
Mousepointer works, but left klick doesn't and it somteimes even looks like it got stuck (like if you press left mouse button and hold)
Happens usually randomly from 2 to 60min after start up. Reboot is the only help...
Doesn't have this on Windows with the exact same mouse and logitech receiver (sorry to mention this other OS in this forum).
Any ideas?
Got a fully updated Linux Mint 20.2, Cinnamon.

The same thing happens to me. I have two trackballs, Logitech and Kensnigton models. Both are on a hub connected to my LCD monitor. I can power the cycle the monitor, kill Xorg, or switch between VTs and that will restore function. But this is still really annoying.

Re: Mint 20.2 mouse left button stops working
I am posting here because I could not find a more recent post. I have a Logitech USB Wireless mouse on my HP laoptop, pointer and righr-click works, no left-click after a while. Track pad does not work. I'm wondering if there is a fix and/or has this bug been reported to Linux? Doing a Ctrl-Alt-Delete, selecting "Switch User" using the arrow key, hitting Enter, then re-log-in gets it working again.

Looks like I found workeround for my problem. Disabling touchpad and joystick when external mouse is connected using xinput helps.
In my situation (Dell Latitude E5470):
xinput
