Bluetooth USB Dongle

Post by bicky »

HiI am running Mint UMA on an old HP Laptop which does not have Bluetooth capability installed.
My question is can I run ANY Bluetooth dongle available on the market provided I install BLUEZ and BLUEMAN as support firmware.
It seems that the cheaper units for sale only support Windows as plug and play my dated equipment doesn't warrant spending a load of dosh.
Advice please.

No. Google for reviews/specs stating linux compatibility on any bluetooth device you buy.

I recently bought this:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07 ... UTF8&psc=1
worked 'out of the box'.

There was a review on it saying 'works on linux', they were right :D
