DualSense controller mapping suddenly broken

Post by nohup »

I used to use a ps5 controller with no problems until today, I started a game on steam and noticed that axes and button mappings are all over the place.
Where should I look to fix the mapping? I have a feeling that I shouldn't manually try assigning which button is which and which axis is which, but I should instead rollback whatever unwanted modification took place, but I have no idea where to look, what program should I use to test/store/revert the mappings.

It works as usual when connected only via cable:

Code: Select all

[27251.489395] usb 1-5.2: new high-speed USB device number 20 using xhci_hcd
[27251.598132] usb 1-5.2: New USB device found, idVendor=054c, idProduct=0ce6, bcdDevice= 1.00
[27251.598133] usb 1-5.2: New USB device strings: Mfr=1, Product=2, SerialNumber=0
[27251.598134] usb 1-5.2: Product: Wireless Controller
[27251.598135] usb 1-5.2: Manufacturer: Sony Interactive Entertainment

but it does not any more when connected via bluetooth:

Code: Select all

[27140.605895] hid-generic 0005:054C:0CE6.000E: unknown main item tag 0x0
[27140.605942] input: Wireless Controller as /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:14.0/usb1/1-12/1-12.1/1-12.1:1.0/bluetooth/hci0/hci0:256/0005:054C:0CE6.000E/input/input38

[Edit: the controller works fine on other devices, it's fully charged, in case you wonder]
