Re: GParted help please
Hi notyootoo ,
welcome to our forum.
in order to reduce SDA5 for use by the Linux System in SDA7,
then you really should use the Windows based Disk Manager:
https://www.lifewire.com/how-to-open-di ... nt-2626080
in order to reduce the space used by SDA5 . . . once that is done,
- you can then use the Gparted program on the LinuxMint Live Media,
to adjust the partition size(s) somewhat.
NB: SDA3 & SDA5 should appear as C: drive & D: drive .. respectively.
in the windows disk management program.

Use windows to modify NTFS partitons--ane be happy
Everything in life was difficult before it became easy.
Re: GParted help please
You are only using 15GiB of 174GiB in mint so have no immediate need to increase the size of your mint
I always modify the win C: partition with win's disk management utilities (just in case) but you should be okay using gparted to reduce the size of sda5. You will need to move sda6 left before you can move sda7 left and increase its size.
When you make changes in gparted you get a window at the bottom saying what has to be done. The changes do not happen until you do edit > apply all operations.
