External Hard Drive only recognized when rebooted
Hello, I am having an issue where my hard drive is not being picked up in the latest linux mint cinnamon edition. I am on a thinkpad x1 carbon 6th gen. The funny thing is is that it gets detected when I restart the computer with the hard drive plugged in the usb of either of the 2 normal usb ports. I have also found that when I plug in a usb-c hub and plug my external hard drive into that, that it then pops up in the file browser. Strange, just wanted to ask what can I do to just get it to show up upon plugging it in? thanks
