Post by bkerin »

The fan kicks into high a lot more and I suspect my battery may get used quickly :/

Any advice what is best to try first here? I see cpufrequtils, cpufreqd, Xfce4-cpufreq-plugin

But it seems like there might be some general setting somewhere that says "prefer low power/temp over speed"?

Please read and follow the instructions in how to get help which is linked to in the red box above. We need to know what hardware you are using and which version of Mint. Also, what was your old linux?
I’ll tell you a DNS joke but be advised, it could take up to 24 hours for everyone to get it.

Please generate an overview of your system like this:
- Launch a terminal window (this is how to launch a terminal window);
- Make the terminal window full screen, to avoid chopped lines;
- Copy/paste this command into the terminal:

Code: Select all

inxi -Fxpmrz
(if you type: the letter F is a capital letter, and don't omit the space after inxi!)

Press Enter.

Copy/paste the output in your next message.
