[SOLVED] Mint fresh install touchpad doesnt work

Post by deepakdeshp »

I had Una installed and touchpad was working. I did a fresh install of Vanessa and touchpad doesnt work. The double click on touchpad doesnt work. I have to use left mouse click on the touchpad instead. The problem was same with default kernel version of Vanessa and the latest Mainline kernel version.
Any clues please?

I restored the Clonezilla backup to another HP laptop . Here also same problem. It's really frustrating when touchpad worked on Mint 20.3 on both.
I stalled 5.15 kernel with no change.

The solution was rather simple. In settings--mouse and touchpad- I enabled tap to click and everything is working. I dont know why the problem wasnt reported widelty and only me faced it.widely. I did spend some hours till I got the solution.
