Hi,
I plan to buy a new computer because my old dell XPS 15z is dying (13 years...). I first have a look to a used T16 (i5-1245u, 16go, i can have one for 900€ still under warrantly) but someone tall me "It doesn’t feel like the most durable laptop. Very light and thin. I have to hold down the base to lift the top". So i wondering if it's a better choice to buy an older thinkpad, like T570, T580, T590, T15 (cheaper and more durable) ?
Don't tell me T480, i know it's a very popular model but i really want a 15'6 display, or a 16...
I need a durable computer, compatible linux mint, with a memory i can upgrade (1 slot soldered is ok if there is a 2nd slot up to 32go minimum), 512go, max 5.5 lbs. I don't really need a dedicate GPU (I'm not a gamer and i don't edit video very often). I don't need the last processor, I saw a T570 with a i7-6600U (450€ with 1 year warrantly) but I have doubts if it would be enough for my use in 5 years... 2 cores (3.5 on cpu benchmark, barely better than my xps 15Z) is a bit short don't you think ? T590 have often a more decent processor like i7-8565u (4 cores, 6.2 on cpu benchmark).
I also saw a T15 (i5-10210u, 4 cores) for 600€
Any recommandation ?
