Second memory card ignored

Post by gnappi »

I have a need to duplicate my phone's 256 Gig memory card, I want to copy SDHC to SDHC and I have a problem. I can install either card but not both at the same time. Whichever I install first is mounted and recognized by disks, but installing the second card is never recognized on any of the USB ports.

I could install a second rotating media drive or SSD and copy to it, then remove the SD install the blank one and copy again which is pretty S-L-O-W but I hope there's a more elegant solution already in Mint 21.0?

I wouldn't use the phone at all for this. Remove the card and mount it to you PC.....you'll need an adapter if you don't already have one, but they are inexpensive. In fact, if you buy 2 of them, you can just mount both cards at the same time and copy from one to the other. Otherwise, copy the contents from the first card to you HDD and then mount the second one and copy the files to that.
