hard drive problems

Postby ubermensch » Sat Aug 04, 2007 1:09 am

I just installed mint linux. I have 2 hard drives, one is a 35gig high rpm drive I use for OS and apps, the other one is a slave drive I use for storage. I cannot access the storage drive, I get this error when I try to open it.
hal-storage-fixed-mount refused uid 1000. This drive is directly connected to my mother board through sata in the slave port ( with the 35 gig drive in the master port) . Let me know what you think. Thanks

I would get rid of the UUID stuff from the /etc/fstab file as it can cause no end of problems.

replace the UUID=... with the /dev/sdaX listed above it.
save and reboot.

Now where was i going? Oh yes, crazy!
