Toshiba Satellite Pro 6000 hangs on reboot

Post by Derfdog »

I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro 6000 that hangs on reboot, I know it is not a Mint problem because it occurs on other distros too and it occurs on XFCE and LXDE, etc...
Being a noob where should I start looking, is there a specific log file that tracks the shutdown process?
This is not a big deal more curiosity than anything
One thing I have not tried is dropping out of the desktop and issuing a shutdown/reboot from the command prompt. But that is going to have to wait until I get home and try it.

For the various log files, check in > Menu > Administration > Log File Viewer. I do not recall the name of the specific log file, but is probably obvious; like shutdown.log. (I am on XP at work at the moment.)
