HDMI cable:poor quality / are there any settings? [SOLVED]

Post by sdim »

Hi, everyone.
Just bought an HDMI cable and connected my graphics card (NVidia GT240) with my HD monitor (LG M197 WDP).
The result was a bit of a disappointment, really, since all I got was fonts wrapped in white, pixelized video, etc.
Is this the way an HDMI connection supposed to be?
Are there any settings that can fix the problem?
It looks better by far, when the connection is through the ordinary VGA cable.
Many thanks.

Make sure you have set the correct output resolution for the HDMI (it should match the maximum resolution your display accepts).

Many thanks for the answer.
The solution came when I went to the TV/Monitor's settings and selected "PC" for the HDMI output.
