[SOLVED] Sony Vaio Realtek High Definition No Sound

Post by hatalar205 » Mon Oct 17, 2011 3:25 pm

Hi.
I have just bought a sony vaio and everything worked well with Linux Mint 11. But after 2 days (tonight) I have booted and realized that sound is not working. When video or song is played it gives no errors but I can't hear anything. System sounds are also not working.

Sound card is Realtek High Definition.
Processor is AMD Dual Core E-350.
Video Card is AMD Radeon HD 6310.
Model Name is SONY VPCYB2M1E/G.

Thanks in advance.

Me again. :D After I posted this thread. I began to search for Linux Mint's, other Linux Distro's and Gnome's forums. I found some similiar problems but their sound card is different. I rebooted for a few times. But it didn't worked again. So I went to sleep for a few hours. When I came back (now), I surprisingly see sound is working. I didn't change any config file or something. But it is working now. Really strange.

I will wait for two or three days before marking the thread as Solved. I am not sure if the same problem occurs again or not.
