WLAN Intel® PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection adapter

Postby freedrivers » Sat Jan 26, 2008 12:02 pm

Hello I am very glad to use Linux Mint NOW, because i tried it with Mint 3 but there was too much unsupported hardware for my notebook.
Now the only real problem is the WLAN interface, witch i already used with an Xubuntu (replaced by Mint 4 now). so the chipset ( Intel® PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection adapter) must be supported but i am too stuoid to get it work :(
i tried too install the windows drivers published on fujitsu-siemens page for the amilo Pi 2530, but it does not work...
Please give me a tip or explain how to install the Linux drivers i downloaded on the Intel page:

Ok so it's no .deb package
In the wiki
http://www.linuxmint.com/wiki/index.php ... eb_package
you can find this link
http://monkeyblog.org/ubuntu/installing/#source
Scroll down to source package and follow the instructions
Take your time and read carefully (e.g. I did not see a config script)
then install - it's not as simple as normal but you'll make it ...

Don't fix it if it ain't broken, don't break it if you can't fix it
