Asking for help

Post by karlox » Mon Mar 05, 2007 10:40 am

Ok , i learn how to mount partitions , a windows ntfs to /media/drive and it worked but i have a little trouble
I cant modified anything inside that partition becouse i have administration but need to be root when i manipulate files in nautilus.
I found scripts and other things but i wish i could find a non complicated way to fix that problem.
So , help me please

Carlos

you can use mintDisk for that. Remove the partition info from /etc/fstab, unmount the partition, restart X.

do you mean this information...

Code: Select all

# /etc/fstab: static file system information.
#
# <file system> <mount point>   <type>  <options>       <dump>  <pass>
proc            /proc           proc    defaults        0       0
# /dev/hda3
UUID=7728e8a0-3edc-4469-ba20-0151609d8c71 /               ext3    defaults,errors=remount-ro 0       1
# /dev/hda6
UUID=4b5def54-ff3c-4611-acf9-30102c0d7249 none            swap    sw              0       0
/dev/hdc        /media/cdrom0   udf,iso9660 user,noauto     0       0
/dev/hdd        /media/cdrom1   udf,iso9660 user,noauto     0       0
/dev/           /media/floppy0  auto    rw,user,noauto  0       0
i dont see the hda1 partition that is /dev/hdb1 and the file is read only , i think i really need a linux course.
Thanks
Carlos
