[Solved] Unable to mount. No object for D-Bus interface.

Post by Frederick Turner »

I've installed Linux Mint 17.2 next to a Windows 7 installation yesterday. I have a SSD with the two operating systems. Furthermore, I have another 1,75 GB HDD in UltraBay slot of my ThinkPad T61. Unfortunately, I currently cannot access any partitions on the HDD. When I try to access them, I get the following error message "Unable to mount. No object for D-Bus interface." Please help me troubleshoot this problem.

Blow is my fdisk -l report:

Partition table entries are not in disk order
To further complicate matters, I had a problem installing Linux Mint 17.2 from a YUMY usb multiboot stick. At some point, I got plenty of error message during and after the repartitioning process. I then tried to install from a DVD and that worked fine. But as you see, the SSD partitions are a bit of a mess and I would like to sort that out at some point. However, it is more important that I get access to my data on the HDD to be up and running.

EDIT: I was able to mount the partitions on the HDD via Menu >> Accessories >> Disks. I then clicked on "mount the filesystem". It seems to work fine now. :)

Thanks to your edit I could mount SSD containing Win7 files to port to LM 19 Tara Cinnamon.
LM installed on separate ext4 partition on :D HDD with 3 Win7 partitions. They all mounted via Nemo 3.8.5 - Corsair-SSD would not mount as per your issue.
Via Disks "gnome-disk-utility 3.28.3 UDisks 2.7.6 (built against 2.7.6)"
I clicked left of 3 icon squares and it mounted. Great!
Wonder what happens next reboot???
Will update this reply when do next reboot.
