My machine has ssd on which I have win10 and Linux Mint successfully now dual booting.
Whilst installing LM I disconnected the 2nd drive HDD and have now reconnected it. Windows Disc manager and Gparted both are seeing the drive but I cannot access it from Windows or Linux. Linux says it is not mounted. This drive is presently completely empty with only one partition taking up the whole drive, unallocated and GPT format. I want to use the drive for data accessible from both OSs.
Gparted does not allow me to mount the empty partition so should I create a new partition in its place? If so should it be ext4 or some other format?

Re: HDD mounting?
Windows can't handle the ext4, so better make it ntfs if you want to use it on both systems.
