Problem accessing Bios Raid Windows 10 partitions from Mint on an AMD Ryzen system

Post by leo67 »

I would like to know the status of built-in/add-on modules in Linux kernel to access Raid partitions on an AMD Ryzen gig.

More specifically I have installed Linux Mint 19 Cinnamon version 3.8.7 using kernel 15.0-24-generic (Thx to the Mint developers as this is the only distro I have tested that works on it!) on a NVMe SSD Samsung 970 Pro M.2 250 GB fitted on a Gigabyte GA-AX370M-DS3H motherboard with AMD Ryzen 2600X CPU, 16 GB RAM DDR4 2400, Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 3GB and 2 x Samsung 840 SSD (500 GB each) in Bios RAID0 with Windows 10 on them as well as a single WD 1TB 3.5 HDD formatted NTFS and used as a backup. Currently Mint does not even see the RAID SSDs/HDD, let alone reading/writing any data on those.

To be honest I don't see myself building bottom-up a Linux kernel + Raid drivers into a Linux installation media, like described in some Linux forums, but I just want to be able to access Windows partitions from Mint.
