Manage Flags - initial extended partition

Post by AZgl1800 »

.
I have always wondered about not being able to "label this first extension" which
contains sda5 for /home and sda6 for LMDE3-Cindy

so I did a right click to see what is available here to help me visualize just what this partition is for.
especially when viewing Gparted from a different OS on the same PC.

so, in this picture, it shows a lot of Flags that 'could be' assigned to the extended partition.

were I to choose one of these, what effect would that have, and why would I want to do so anyway?

If you removed that pointless 14 MB swap partition you could also just do away with the extended partition by converting the logical volumes inside into primary partitions. ;)
