Primary vs logical partitions

Post by wpshooter »

Is there any performance or reliability benefits to designating the /home and swap partitions
of a hard drive as either primary or logical partitions other than the fact that making them primary partitions
loses the ability to use that space as primary partitions for say other OSs ?

Thanks.

Thanks.

GPT is better if your system supports it. 'Unlimited' partitions without faffing about with logical ones.
