Suddenly it's impossible to mount Windows NTFS partition

Post by ciacnorris »

Hello. I'm using Linux Mint KDE 18.3 and Windows 10. I also have other Linux distros installed.
I have disabled FastBoot in Windows and everything used to work fine, but - I think since the last Windows' update - I can't mount Windows' NTFS partition read-write anymore. I get this error:

Code: Select all

Si è verificato un errore durante l'accesso a «Home», il sistema ha restituito: L'operazione richiesta non è riuscita: Error mounting /dev/sda4 at /media/user/Windows 10: Command-line `mount -t "ntfs" -o "uhelper=udisks2,nodev,nosuid,uid=1000,gid=1000" "/dev/sda4" "/media/user/Windows 10"' exited with non-zero exit status 14: Windows is hibernated, refused to mount.
Failed to mount '/dev/sda4': Operazione non permessa
The NTFS partition is in an unsafe state. Please resume and shutdown
Windows fully (no hibernation or fast restarting), or mount the volume
read-only with the 'ro' mount option.
Mounting read-only works. I have re-booted Windows many times and checked that FastBoot was still disabled. Good old normal read-write automatic mount doesn't work. What can I do?

Have a look at:

And turn off hibernation if it is on.
