Hard drive partition became Unallocated

I was trying to have read-write permission in my PC, during which it hanged and when I restarted it, it was missing one of my partition and I had a lot of data in it which is necessary, I am pretty confused what happened and how can I get the data back.

Not that I know how to help, but maybe for those who know explaining what you exactly did will help them to troubleshoot.

After backing up your data I suggest re-installing. Don't mess with the default permissions on system files and folders. Bad things will happen.
