<SOLVED> Automounting sd card containing hassio image results in endless mount loop

Post by Marius456 » Fri Apr 05, 2019 2:34 pm

As I wanted to reinstall my raspberry pi containing an hassio image to pi os I inserted my sd card in the pc.
The partitions on the card were mounted automatically. But immediately they were dismounted and an endless loop began of mounting and dismounting.
I removed the SD card but the loop did not end. I disabled automount in the Nemo preferences. But still the disk is continuously discovered and disconnected.
Even after a reboot of my pc the loop continues as you can see in the dmesg output.

I tried recovery mode and emptied the /tmp dir, that didn't help.
To be clear, the SD card is not inserted in the pc anymore, and hasn't been connected since the first problems started.
Probably somewhere there is still a trigger which keeps the loop intact.

Does anyone have a way to stop the loop without a full reinstall of Mint?

My system, output of inxi -Fxz:

After a real poweroff instead of a restart, the problem dissappeared. So I guess it was a problem with my SD card reader.
Case closed ;-).
