Resizing a partition (Resolved)

Post by GELvdH » Sat Jun 01, 2019 10:13 am

I have a machine which has 2 HDDs, a 250 meg and a 2TB. When I installed Linux Mint 19.1 I didn't pay enough attention and it installed linux on the 2 TB drive using the whole drive. Now I wish to install a smaller SSD for linux to speed things up and immage the large drive to the SSD, but when I go to GParted to try to shrink the partition I get the following numbers, 0 free space preceding, 190772 New size. When I try to change the New size it does not allow me to change the values with resize. Any sugestions?

Mounted partitions can't be resized. Hence back up your data, boot from live USB and try resizing.
