CurlFTPfs breaks fstab and booting

Post by hansa123 »

Dear all,
I simply want to add a folder on my local NAS to the mount of my machine (Mint 19.3 x64 Cinn.). I reach the NAS via FTP. I followed this site here: https://linuxconfig.org/mount-remote-ft ... filesystem
Installed curlftpfs, created the file with the credentials, set new permission and then added this line to etc/fstab:

curlftpfs#192.168.178.1 /mnt/NAS fuse allow_other,uid=1000,gid=1000,umask=0022 0 0

sudo mount -a works perfectly, the folder is there, yay! Restart, boom, cannot log in any more, terminal screen, generic error message. All attempts to resolve failed, booted up Mint from USB, deleted the new line in etc/fstab, booting works again. Any idea why this does not work? Why does fstab break?
