Change Disk Drive Mount Icon

Post by AidFHonda »

Hi all,

Does anyone know how to change the default mount icons for disk drives in the disk/file manager?

I want to change the icons for two drives, Iomega Zip 750 and Matshita LS-120, in my disk manager (see "Disks Icons.png" attached below). I can change them under Computer (as seen in "Computer Icons.png"), but I can't find a way to change the disk manager icons without also changing the mount point, which I don't want to do.

I'm still relatively new to Linux...

In Computer, right click the icon and choose properties, then click the icon in the upper left. Here you can find icons in the categories on the left. If you want a custom one, you browse to where you have saved it. Choose it and in the next window you highlight it and click select in the lower right. If you want to download some try the site I'll leave a link to. You download the ico file type. https://www.iconarchive.com/

That's what I did to get the icons under Computer correct. I'm trying to change the icon shown on the sidebar when a disk is loaded.

I didn't see that in your post. I just saw the icons in Computer, and thought that's what you wanted changed. As to the file manager icon I don't know.
