Bad Superblock, Inconsistent Drive Assessment

Post by SoyDodger »

Hello everyone,

I'm having trouble mounting an older SSD (dev/sdd1/) as I receive the error "bad superblock". I accessed the drive fine just a day ago. When I first examined DISK, it initially showed SELF-TEST FAIL. So I read this thread:

viewtopic.php?f=50&t=317488&p=1798286&h ... k#p1798286

Where one user recommended running the SMART diagnostic, which I tried but received the error:
sk_disk_smart_self-test: Operation not supported (udisks-error-quark, 0)

I also ran "Check File System" and got the error:
udisks-error-quark, 0

Now the self-test fail message is gone and it shows Disk is OK, but I am still unable to mount it properly.

Has anyone experienced this before? Are there any suggestions on how I can mount it successfully?
