Please advise on how to mount 2nd PV to extend VG

Post by bobmct »

I've been a linux user for decades. Mint seemingly forever. I have two 1TB drives in my system defined as an LVM setup. What I can't get to work is mounting the PV from the 2nd drive to extend the primary VG. Here are what the drives are partitioned as:

--- Physical volume ---
PV Name /dev/sda2
VG Name vgmint
PV Size 931.01 GiB / not usable 4.00 MiB
Allocatable yes (but full)
PE Size 4.00 MiB
Total PE 238338
Free PE 0
Allocated PE 238338
PV UUID aYee2p-mAW5-T0U1-2JlE-BNm3-G7kH-IZtkGS

--- Physical volume ---
PV Name /dev/sdb3
VG Name vgmint
PV Size 930.01 GiB / not usable 3.00 MiB
Allocatable yes
PE Size 4.00 MiB
Total PE 238082
Free PE 238082
Allocated PE 0
PV UUID l51EHP-HJ1Z-bhCd-PxA6-31Mq-J3Ux-oWImVM

Based on what is shown above what command(s) must I use to add /dev/sdb3 to extend the VG vgmint on /dev/sda2?

I've tried just about every command I could find to accomplish this without success. I had this configured properly in version 19.3 but when I upgraded to 20.1 this is how it ended up.
If any additional information is required please ask?
Any suggestions/instructions greatly appreciated.

Thanks :
