Mint 20.x Install Fails in Strange Way

Post by kc6ufm »

Greetings all...

I've been "playing": with this since 20.0 (Cinnamon) came out, and now here we are at 20.2 and it still not working. Time to get some expert help!

The short version is that I have 19.3 on my PC (have had it since it was released) and there are no issues. When I install 20.x, however, things get odd.

I begin to get odd read/write errors from both HDD in the PC. They seem random in nature, and stand-alone disk diagnostics find no problem with the drives or controllers. I want to restate that the exact same hardware works perfectly with 19.3 and this only happens when I install 20.x on the PC.

Here is the output from the System Report tool:

=====

The 20.x installation itself seems to go just fine and there are no errors generated.

Any ideas?

Many thanks!
