Multiple users reported that updating the Kernel from 5.4.0.81 to *.84 caused the DVD drive to be ejected on power on boots.
The work around was to fall back to Kernel *.81 and discontinue updates for *.84.
Now the NEW Kernel 5.4.0.86 has the same problem of ejecting the DVD drive on power on boots.
So I had fall back to the *.81 Kernel and discontinue updates for the *.86 Kernel.
Can someone Please fix this ???

Re: Kernel 5.4.0.86 ejects DVD
So the Ubuntu Forum moved the problem to their Bug Reporting System, where the problem is well known.
There they have generated fixes for the Ubuntu Kernels.
Witch Ubuntu Kernel does Mint 20.2 use ?
Sadly the Ubuntu users say the fix doesn't work.
So for the affected PC's I must stop Mint Kernel Updates.

Ubuntu Bug suggests that this is fixed in Focal 5.4.0.87.
Perhaps the next Mint Update will include the fix ???

Re: Kernel 5.4.0.86 ejects DVD
It is up to Ubuntu now. The fix will have to be included in the next proposed kernel and pass testing before being released into stable
Re: Kernel 5.4.0.86 ejects DVD
Thanks for the info.
I am wondering if a Mint Kernel 5.4.0.86 is the same as the Ubuntu Kernel 5.4.0.86 ?
Are they the same file, or does Mint have its own compile of the Kernel ?

Re: Kernel 5.4.0.86 ejects DVD
It is the same file from an Ubuntu repo. Mint has no kernel developers
[Problem Solved] Kernel 5.4.0.86 ejects DVD
Installed Kernel 5.4.0.88 on the two RYZEN PC's that had the DVD tray eject problem on cold boot, and it solved the problem.
Thanks for the info and the help.
