I need to burn some files on a DVD for somebody. I haven't tried it before on this computer.
I installed xfburn. When I tried to burn the DVD xfburn gives a "Failure" and a popup window with "The write mode is not supported currently."
Here is the DVD drive inxi info:
Code: Select all
Drives: Optical-1: /dev/sr0 vendor: hp HLDS model: DVDRW GUD1N rev: LD04
dev-links: cdrom,cdrw,dvd,dvdrw
Features: speed: 62 multisession: yes audio: yes dvd: yes rw: cd-r,cd-rw,dvd-r,dvd-ram
state: running
If I right click and look at the properties of the blank DVD desktop icon, the name is "CD/DVD Creator" and on the permissions tab the owner and group is "root (root)".
I tried running xfburn as root and got the same errors.
I can't find a way to change permission for my normal user account to write to it.
My user is already by default a member of "cdrom" group and user privileges "Use CD-ROM drives'".
How can I troubleshoot this and fix it?
